Tendenzen at 50 – Architecture and Photography | Stefano Graziani & Bas Princen
A presentation by visual artist Stefano Graziani of his exhibition installation Tendenzen Interiors, followed by a talk on photographing architecture with Graziani and Bas Princen.
In 2025, Stefano Graziani returned to a selection of the buildings originally featured in the Tendenzen exhibition and documented their current state. His photographic series focuses on the less accessible, private, and domestic interiors of five well-known projects: Casa Bianchi (Riva San Vitale) and Casa Caccia (Cadenazzo) by Mario Botta; Casa Tonini (Toricella) by Bruno Reichlin and Fabio Reinhart; Casa and Atelier Durisch (Riva San Vitale) and the Scuola Materna (Balerna) by Ivano Gianola. The images trace processes of transformation, alteration, decay, maintenance, and preservation. By observing the buildings in their present condition, the series raises broader questions not only about the preservation of postwar architectural heritage but also about attachment and care, passing generations, and the everyday realities of human inhabitation.
